BPA founder Jared Sandler says he has one of the cleanest arms of any pitcher that has gone through the esteemed organization. Add in he’s 6’7, a hard-worker, and showing more and more velo with each summer, it’s easy to see why BPA right-handed pitcher Alex Wallace should be a 2023 grad scouts throughout the country have on follow lists.
Wallace enters 2022 coming off of a Perfect Game WWBA World Championship, or Jupiter, where he ran it up to 91 and showcased a heavy sinker, going against players graduating this year, while he is set to graduate from Santa Margarita in 2023.
“His ball has tremendous life, hitters don’t see it well,” Sandler said. “He has a really changeup he throws to both lefties and righties, I just think the sky is the limit for him.”
As BPA locks in its 2022 schedule, a final summer circuit for Wallace, here’s a look at the pitcher, both in his and words and on the mound.
How would you describe what you can bring to the table as a potential recruit?
I can bring a winning nature with a strong work ethic. On a daily basis, I strive to be better than the day before. I am a great team player and will compete.
As you learn more about different baseball programs and their college or university, what kind of elements are you prioritizing in your recruitment to find the right fit?
I look for a tight bond within the teammates because those would be the potential teammates I would work with and become better ballplayers with. So, I would also have to see the dedication and brotherhood within the players.
As we go into 2022, are there any particular focuses you have in your development?
Entering 2022 I am focused on winning. I want to be able to dominate my opponents and just simply win. To do so I need to be able to give my team the momentum to put runs on the board.
What would a college coach learn about you that they wouldn’t see watching a game if you were to join their program?
I have a killer instinct on the mound at all times no matter how calm I look. Also, I am exceptionally well at controlling emotions on the bump whether it is good or bad.
Is there anything else you’d want a recruiter to know about you as a person, athlete and student?
I will be reliable and always give everything my all. I will be the best person, teammate, or player I can be. I will always be able to find more fight in me no matter the circumstances.
